Is Chemotherapy Required If Blasts Are Present In Bone Marrow?

My son, 49, diagnosed with AML, has had 2 rounds of chemo. Bone marrow biopsy tomorrow. Today no blasts showed up in blood test. Is this a good sign? If blasts are present in bone marrow, would you recommend a third round of chemo? He is at the U of A Medical Center in Tucson.

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
He is suffering from acute myeloid leukemia. No blast in the bone marrow after 2 round of chemotherapy is a good sign. How many round of chemotherapy needed is depend on the type of AML and other parameters like blood and bone marrow study. You should continue your tratment accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have any doubts then contact me at bit.ly/Drsanghvihardik, I will be happy to answer you.
