Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 36 years old male, just got my blood test reports from a lab. Here are a couple things that do not fall in my range.CHolestrol (Enzymatic) is 206, HDL Cholestrol is 39,LDL Cholestrol is 149, SGPT(U.V.Kinetic) is 47.
Apart from these all values are in the prescribed ranges. Is everything ok?
Dear Sir Thanks for your query. Now a days treat to target approach has been abandoned and your cholesterol levels are not assessed in isolation. If you are not a smoker, diabetic and do not have any cardiovascular disease ever, these levels are acceptable and do not require medication. However need of medication may arise if you have diabetes, smoking or any other risk factors. Avoid fried foods, sweets. Do maintain ideal body weight and do daily exercise. Sincerely Sukhvinder
