Is Clammy Skin Caused Due To Insect Bite?

Hi, my six-year-old s skin was cold and clammy this morning and very sweaty. I kept him home from summer school and let him sleep for a few more hours - when he got up he was fine but now I m seeing a big swollen red insect bite on his elbow. Can this be the reason for the sweaty clamminess and do I still need to worry now that he has no more symptoms?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms son seem to be related to an insect bite. I suggest giving him antihistamines such as Cetirizine syrup. I also suggest using Calamine lotion for local application.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
