Whether during
pregnancy or otherwise, loose motions lead to imbalance in the body minerals what we call as electrolytes and loss of water. Along with the water, there is a loss of mineral called as potassium also. This leads to tremendous weakness. Water loss leads to
dehydration.
Usually the treatment for loose motions is maintaining the hydration (water contain) and levels of minerals.
Coconut water is rich in minerals with ample of potassium in it. Moreover, it is a clean drink.Therefore it serves both the purposes of providing water and minerals. By taking plenty of coconut water, the ill effects of loose motions are prevented and body recovers faster.
With each motion, a glassful of coconut water is advised.
If coconut water is not available, just put a pinch of salt and fistful of sugar in about a litre of boiled and cooled water and one glassful of this solution should be taken after each motion.
The other alternatives are oral rehydration powders available in the chemists shop. They have to be dissolved in prescribed amount of water and consumed.
Unfortunately if the hydration is not properly maintained, then doctors have to do it by intravenous bottles.
