Is Coffee Consumption Safe While Taking Xanor?

Dear Dr. Bienenfeld.--Is it safe to take Xanor (.500 mg) while I drink coffee? Will there be negative effects? I intend to drink coffee to stake awake because whenever I take Xanor I get drowsy. By the way, I take Xanor for anxiety, depression, and palpitation. I am a law student. Thank you doc. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Xanor contains alprazolam, which belongs to benzodiazepine-class. It is a short-acting medication used to manage moderate to severe panic attacks and mood condition disorders.
You can safely take coffee when you feel drowsy, especially in the morning hours, as it contains caffeine, a CNS stimulant. Kindly do not take coffee at night as it may disturb the action of the drug. You must avoid alcohol intake while undergoing Xanor therapy.
