Is Collagen Injections Safe After Knee Replacement Surgery?

My mother is 85 and has had a series of cortizon injections. The last 2 have not given her any relief. Her doc has recommended collagen injections. Her other knee has been replaced and at her age we want to avoid another surgery. What do you thing of these injections??
