Thank you for your query

The liver has many functions including
: glucose synthesis & metabolism
: cholesterol synthesis & metabolism
:protein synthesis
: clotting factors synthesis (which help to prevent bleeding)
: eliminates waste products
:helps with digestion (bile production)
: produces enzymes that help with metabolic functioning of the body.

Blood work for a liver may check for its proper functioning, damage to its tissue structures, or for damage to other parts of the body. It may also reflect presence of parasites or tumors in the body.

From your query, I take it that one of those biomarkers came back positive. This might have indicated some pathology (a tumor, for instance) in the colon. These are best examined/visualized directly by a colonoscopy and a biopsy of the tissue to check type and grade. This will take approximately a week.

Based on the findings, your doctor will advice on the course of action.

Depending on what parameters were elevated in your blood work, the type and extent of the problem may be diagnosed and treated. It is important to treat the cause for the elevation.

Hope I've put some light and perspective to the situation.
Wish you good health.
