Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 10 month baby s diagnosed to have congenital hip dislocation and his left leg s a bit long. Have taken ortho doc appointment next week. Is it curable. How serious is the issue. Will it cause any prob in his movement. Will the child b a normal child???
It is a common condition in children and firstborn child. If diagnosed early and treated successfully, children are able to develop a normal hip joint and should have no limitation in function.
Even with appropriate treatment, hip deformity and osteoarthritis may develop later in life. This is especially true when treatment begins after the age of 2 years.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
