I ve been in recovery from serious alcohol and drug addiction s and curientry take these meds. mirtazapine 15mg,clonazepam 1mg, lamogtrigine 25mg,depakote 1500mg,metaxlone800mg,brintellix 20mg,throxine150 mg,pravastatatine 80mg,enalpril 20mg,omeprazoie. I m coming off of donepezil 5mg because of constant diarrhea and loss of appiate

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of diarrhea and loss of appetite due to Donepezil. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like electrolyte imbalance, food intolerance, inflammatory bowel disease, food allergy , bacterial or viral infection , parasitic infection. In you case the symptoms are probably due to side effect of Donepezil , so discuss this with your doctor. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like ornidazole , albendazole , omeprazole along with loperamide. Take diet rich in multivitamins and avoid any oily sharp and fast food. Take diet rich in fibres as well. For now eat light and non spicy , eat fresh fruits and vegetables and eat fruits like banana. You should take plenty of fluids to re-hydrate.
