Is Constant Stomach Pain Normal During First Period?

Hi, my daughter is 12 years olf. She had her first period Jan 11. She suffered very bad stomach pain the duration of her period. No painkillers would work or even take the edge off the pain. The pain wasnt cramp like. It was constant. She has now since Sunday got period again only 3 weeks since the first one. Again she has the constant pain which stays 4 to 5 hours at a time then maybe an hour relief then back again. Only this time she has the pain but not much blood loss atall. Is this normal?
