Is Continuing Pregnancy Safe After Taking Zenflox For 10 Days?

Hi doctor Please suggest as my wife was suffering from stomach ache and my dr suggested her to take zenflox and she took it for 10 days.now just before 4 days we came to know that she has pregnancy of 4 weeks with thyroid problem. And initiallyy unknowingly we took it for 10 days, please suggest is it safe to continue pregnancy or their is any chance of side effects.Please advise

I have gone through your Query & I really appreciate your concern about the problem you are facing.

As a physician I would like to tell yo that Ofloxacin (Zenflox) is a Category C drug in pregnancy which means it is not known what effect it has on the baby (pregnancy). It is not approved for use during pregnancy. These drugs (Category C) are given in pregnancy only if benefits outweigh the risks.

Thus, I would like to suggest to you that you should visit a Gynecologist as soon as possible to better understand risks of that drug to your baby and to discuss future plan of action.
