Is Cosmetic Surgery Recommended For Nerve Damage At The Colon Surgery Incision Site?
I had colon resection surgery. three. the first one leaked and I needed emergency to repair and left with a bag. 4 months later a successful re-connection. now itis 5 months and I am back to exercise and eating most anything. Doc says I am good. since the second surgery I noticed a bulge on each side of my scar (down the center of my midsection). Recently he says it may be nerve damage and I may need cosmetic surgery. I am looking on line but most items talk about hernias. Can this nerve damage come back / repair itself? can I do anything to make it work. what would the cosmetic surgery do?
To my knowledge nerve damage does not cause bulging. Hernia sounds more like a reasonable cause of the bulging, but also Keloids if the bulging looks like the scar and is from the scar and feels like its getting bigger, in the keloid case a cosmetic surgery might be help not always though, in the hernias case more investigation needs to determine if it is really a hernia and origin of the hernia to plan for surgery. Thank you.
