Is Cough Variant Asthma Contagious ?

My 10 daughter has had an unproductive cough for the past 3 weeks. it is brought on by heavy use of the lungs, i.e, running, ice skating, etc. When she stops the sport, she begins to cough and she has stated that it tasts like copper. I have asked her to try to spit up the phlegm so see if there is a pink ting, but nothing comes up. My other daughter suffered from cough variant asthma as a child, and has since out grown it. I'm wondering if one child has it what the likely hood that another would have it as well

Hi thanks for asking question.
Your child might have seasonal or allergic respiratory inflammation like allergic bronchitis or allergic rhinitis like condition.
To rule out obstructive cause pulmonary function test can be done that might reveal low FEV1 value if asthma like obstructive condition present.
Allow her to do moderate exercise.Violent heavy exercise not needed at such a young age.
In her food onion , ginger helpful.
If blocked nose decongestant can be given like that of antihistaminic.
yes asthma can be congenital from parents.

I hope you will understand my concern.
