Is Curcumin Advisable While On Atenolol And Aspirin?

Hi my mum is taking folic acid 5mg, atenolol 50mg, Aspirin 100mg, Omeprazole along with joint formula advanced 1 tab in the morning and Lovastatin 20mg in the evening. Recently I bought her curcumin 550mg and was told that it may clash with her medication. Aspirin and Curcumin (Tumeric) do not go well together. Can you advise please?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

You can safely take curcumin with your routine drugs. Curcumin will not interfere with them and does not affect their efficacy, the only problem that might arise will be curcumin can increase the production of acid and you might free excessive gastritis while on curcumin.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
