Is Dark Brown Flow With Pain In Stomach During Pregnancy Without Help From Susten Injection Serious?

good morning doctor,
my wife is 6 week pregnent.but she had a dark brown flow 2 days and also slight pain in the stomach. the doctor gave her injection susten 200. since then her right hip and leg is paining, and her stomach is also paining even more then before. the flow has not stoped.the doctor also gave her few medcine plus 1 capsule "HER NMP 200" which she has to put deep in her vigiana before sleeping at night. we both r a little concern about this. cause the doctor also asked us if we want the kid. my first kid is 18 month old. pl advice

Hi and thanks for the query,

I understand that the pain and discharge has not decreased even after taking susten and also HER NMP 200. The symptoms are most likely due to either:
1. missed abortion: meaning that the baby is no longer alive inside the uterus.
2. threatened abortion : where the baby is alive but it is trying to get aborted.
3. ectopic pregnancy: pregnancy occurs outside the uterus either in the tube or ovary. This is rare.

An ultrasound examination is needed to confirm this and I suggest that you get it done urgently as she is having pain and bleeding. This will help in determining the cause. Further treatment will depend upon the ultrasound report.
