Hi, I am 23 years old and have been with my partner for 4 years. We haven't been trying for a baby, but have not been using any contraception for nearly a year. My periods are usually very heavy, but last week I hardly bled at all. Only a very dark brown spotting that was wiped away after I had been to the bathroom. This only lasted a couple of days in the morning. There was no need for a tampon as there was hardly anything there! I don't feel nauseous so surely I can't be pregnant, can I?
Nausea is supposed to be a common symptom related to pregnancy, but some women hardly experience it, so we cannot use it as a marker for pregnancy. Why don't you either way go about a home pregnancy test at least 2 weeks from the last day of the last day of sexual contact using an early morning urine sample, to get more insight on pregnancy. At times, home pregnancy tests are inaccurate for some women and so if at all your menstrual irregularities continue then it would be best to visit a doctor for a more elaborate evaluation.
Best wishes.
