Hi, I'm 5"9, 190 Ibs and 19 years old, i'm very healthy and have no illnesses in my family. Yesterday I noticed I had dark brown gooey discharge on my pad and today it turned to dark red, I had unprotected sex about 3 weeks ago, could I be spotting or pregnant???
Hello dear, thanks for writing in. Let me tell you, it is very difficult to understand what is happening as you haven't mentioned your menstrual history at all as in last period date and if your periods are regular. In that case I simply can assume it to be a menstrual flow or a very early miscarriage or some menstrual dysfunction. And hence I suggest to to take up a urine pregnancy test to find out if you are pregnant or not. This is available as a card test in the pharmacy and you need to perform the test with first morning urine sample. Two lines on the card says you are pregnant. If not, it could be just your periods. If this doesn't settle down on its own, and pregnancy test being negative, you must meet your gynaecologist for treatment. Very importantly, do take care by practising safe sex ( condoms which are available for both men and women) to prevent transmission of any sexually transmitted diseases. Hope this helped. Good luck!
