Is Darkness Around The Stitches On Broken Shin Normal?
My mom is 97. Good physical health. Has dementia. She broke the skin on her shin. Received stitches and recently had some removed and left 2 in due to thin skin. Dr. Said to let them dry up on their own. Keep clean. But the skin around wound is black. Is that normal? No oozing. Little swollen. Should I wait alittle longer. Stitches were in for 10 days.
Hi, From history it seems that due to thin and lax skin at this age might give rise this type of wound skin. Nothing to worry, clean local part with plane water or antiseptic lotion and kee this part open and airy. Gradually with healing it will be alright. Ok and take care.
