Is Dehydration The Cause For Muscle Cramps In The Chest?
I get frequent muscle cramps in my chest, right side near my arm pit. I think it happens ater I have been hot and sweaty. I also notice a bad cramp sometimes when I move my right arm toward my chest. I know I don t get enough water...could this be dehydration or could it be the muscle itself? THANKS
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Yes, dehydration can cause muscle twitching and cramps. Dehydration causes Hyponatremia (low sodium) and this causes muscle cramps. So drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated. If cramps are improving then nothing should be done. But If cramps are till present the get done calcium and vitamin d 3 levels as deficiency of the these can cause similar cramps. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
