Is Delayed Menstruation A Symptom Of Pregnancy?

we had inter course on June 28. Then my wife had a period on June 29 but it lasted only for 2 days. Usually it s for 4-5 days. Now, she is due for July 29. But still not getting a period. She is always regular. Is there a chance that she might be pregnant?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
It appears frim your description that you had intercourse one day prior and your wife had periods next day. This states that your timing of intercourse was not during the fertile period. Although, her periods lasted for only two days, it states that she is unlikely to be pregnant.
There are chances of her getting pregnant if you had intercourse during the fertile period during this cycle.
Anyway, since she has not got periods yet, she can wait for a week and take a urine pregnancy test to know the present status.
In case she is not pregnant, she should get her periods, although it might have been delayed.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
