Is Delayed Removal Of Tampon A Cause For Concern?

I left a tampon in for at least 24 hours, my period only lasted for about 4 days this cycle and it wasn t as heavy, after the tampon incident I had just a spot of brown discharge and my lower back has been hurting. I ve had some nausea, but that was going on even before my period. I m just nervous and don t know if I should go see a doctor.

I have read your description and understand your concern.
Delayed removal of tampon is a cause of concern. It could induce infection leading to foul odour and discharge. Also you may land up in complications like 'toxic shock syndrome'.
Kindly consult Gynecologist at the earliest and get it removed. Also, you need to get treated for the associated symptoms caused due to its delayed removal.
