Is Delirium Tremens Related With Minor Body Twitches?
after a long night of drinking, I frequently have minor twitches throughout my body (fingers, legs, etc.). Are these symptoms of DTs? Or are these simply signs that my nervous system is reacting to the amount of toxins I've placed in my body? I'm 21, 6 feet tall, and roughly 180 pounds. Thanks.
What you described are known as tremors and known withdrawal effect of alcohol. You are right in saying that the body tries to do well without alcohol when the level declines after many hours of alcohol intake.
They are not suggestive of DT but they are indicative that in future you are likely to develop DT in case you do not control yourself for alcohol. I mean to say that with prolonged intake risk of DT increases significantly.
I must remind you that other than DT multiple other complications occur due to prolonged alcohol intake. Considering all these facts I hope you will take right decision immediately or in near future. Thanks and regards
