Is Dermovate Effective For Pimples?

is dermovate good in curing pimples? I am 23 and been constantly having pimples since I was 14. I have tried the natural way like putting Ice on the affected area and it doesnt work. I have tried putting toothpaste for about 2-3 weeks now and it works fine some times. I was told that dermovate is good in curing pimples. Is this true? thanks for your answers. verymuch appreciated

Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic

Dermovate is not good at all for pimples!! It is a potent topical steroid. Steroid are not for acne; they may rather worsen acne, if used regularly. Please don't go by a layman's advice or casual friends advice.

I would suggest you to consult a specialist dermatologist rather than using home remedies or toothpaste. Experimenting with these may cause more harm than good.
If I was the treating doctor I would have asked you to use a topical antiacne gel e.g either clindamycin or benzoyl peroxide for day time use.
They are antibacterial, antiinflammatory; benzoyl peroxide is also keratolytic.

At night I usually ask my patients of acne to apply a topical retinoid e.g adapalene or tretinoin. Topical retinoids are antiinflammatory and comedolytic and therefore prevent new acne lesions as well

I would suggest that you visit a dermatologist for a proper assessment of the acne severity and appropriate treatment.
Your dermatologist may also choose to start you on oral antibiotics e.g either doxycycline or minocycline, if the condition warrants them.

Regards
