Is Difficulty In Swallowing Meat A Matter Of Concern?
I am a 57 yr old female and I have been having trouble swallowing meats. My mother had this problem years ago and I wonder if I should consult a physician? I am on synthroid meds (my whole life) and my sister died 15 years ago with thyroid cancer. I am concerned. What should I do?
Thyroid problem can be related to difficult swallowing problem. For that I suggest you investigate with ultrasonography of thyroid gland and X-ray to do further work up.
If thyroid gland enlarged then FNAC can be done to decide whether it is infective etiology or tumor. Your posterior pharynx examination also advisable.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
