General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

At times post-treatment for fractured tibia & fibula may present with complications. Complication commonly occurs due to lack of soft tissue coverage & blood supply to the tibial shaft.

Other reasons why you are having difficulty in walking may be mal-union or infection.

You are suggested to see your orthopedic surgeon, get a follow-up examination done. You may have to go through a few blood tests & Imaging tests.

In the mean time stay at rest, don't strain or stress unnecessarily. You can use a walker.

Knee & Hip should ideally not get affected but it can be due to immobility or some developing nerve problem or arthritis. Get examined.

Your treatment will depend upon the pathology detected.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
