Is Dilation And Curettage Procedure Effective In The Treatment Of Endometrial Hyperplasia?
i visited my gyenacologist recently and on examination i was told that the uterus lining is quite thick a pap smear was taken and he suggested in doing a D&C, i do not experienced any pain or out of the norm bleeding, i am now 53 years in age and my periods ranges from every 3 to 6 months with a minimal flow of 2 - 3 days my concern is why is he wanting to do a D&C is it really necessary

As per your age endometrial evaluation is necessary as you are having endometrial hyperplasia. D and C has not much role in that. That is a procedure which just remove endometrial lining and residue in case of pregnant females.
