Is Discoloration Of The Head Of The Penis A Cause For Concern?

Hello! I ve seen these questions asked several times on here but I figured if ask as well. I have slight discoloration around the head of my penis. It does not hurt nor burn, however, it is simply something I am curious about. I have had unprotected sex roughly 1 month ago. Thank you in advance for your assistance!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most probably it will be due to harmless condition like penile melanosis. Nothing much to worry and it will settle by itself. It occurs when melanin forms in concentrated deposits on the surface of your skin. Penile melanosis isn't an STD and isn't contagious, If you are worried much you can consult a dermatologist for expert opinion.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
