Is Dizziness Connected To Vertigo Or Malignant Hypertension?

Blood pressure was 200 over 130, and then a few minutes later was 168 over 110. Dizziness feeling like going to the right. Blurred vision is right eye, and extreme migraine and feel nauseous when sitting or standing. Dr. said vertigo but could it be malignant hypertension or something more serious? Dr didn t run any tests just said because of dizziness was vertigo

Detailed Answer:
Hi Dear !! Thanks for your query to HCM .
Read and reviewed your query and health concerns.

My opinion-Malignant Hypertension with Migraine-complicating VBIS(Vertibro-Basilar Insufficiency Syndrome).
Dizziness in your case seems to be mostly from the Malignant Hypertension, causing blurred Vision.
If it's food induced with spicy diets,or induced by anxiety, possibility of accompanied gastritis and GERD needs to be ruled out.Silent/ undetected IBS(Irritable bowel Syndrome)could be a cause for such aggravation.
Consults with Physician and treatment for high blood pressure, with changes in diet and life style would keep the condition under control.
Your Blood pressure seems to be labile(labile Hypertension) and you need to take care to prevent risks of Anginal / Heart attacks. Also rule out Pheochromocytoma/ or Intra-cranial tumours, which could cause such complaints.
Vertebro-Basilar insufficiency also could cause and needs to be ruled out,by Contrast CT SKULL with angiography if need be.

Other causes need to be ruled out after Consults with Specialist Physician/Cardiologist doctor -as need be.
Further suggestions in this regard would need more information /investigations after getting more details from You.

Do's Suggested-
Being a case of labile Hypertension, You need to investigate for -Hyperlipidemia and diabetes,so as to avoid risks of CAD(Coronary artery disease) with heart attacks.
Weight reduction and meticulous investigations to avoid risks from CAD is a Must in such a scenario.
Thus this dizziness doesn't seem to be just Vertigo-related to Gastritis/ or ENT issues, but needs to be attended as it may cost risks from heart attacks and paralysis.
CT angiography with Sinus Study would fix the causes.Second opinion with team of Physician/Caridologist/GI Specialist/ Ent doctor would be needed to resolve such a high risk problem.
So you should be serious and start acting as suggested.
Rule out other causes, before starting any treatment as suggested herewith.

This brief reply is given on facts submitted, which needs to be verified from your attending doctors, with whom you can check before starting further changes in the treatment.

Hope this would help you to plan further of this complex illness of yours.
