Is Dizziness, Fever, Aches And Coughing Related To Flu?

On Friday night, I noticed my eyes hurt. On Saturday night, I noticed a tickle in my throat that made me cough three times. It didn t stop. The coughing seemed to make my blood pressure go up, and I thought I was going to have a stroke. On Sunday morning I was nauseous/dizzy, achy, had a fever, kept coughing, and couldn t get out of bed. It continued through Monday. On Tuesday, I ate a few bites of apple, then I tried to go to the store to buy food for the holidays, but the dizziness and nausea was unbearable. This morning I still felt a little feverish, and the nausea/dizziness is slightly improved. Are these common flu symptoms? When can I expect to feel better?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
Dizziness , nausea , cold , feverish type , tickle in throat are actually due to flu and also related to some sort of allergy .
As all symptoms are subsiding so need not to worry because flu is a type of viral disease and self limiting .
Since you are also having some throat infection ( tickle was due to allergy and infection ) .
When such patient visit in my clinic I usually advise them to take levofloxacin 750 mg one tablet / day for three day .
I also advise my patient to take some cough syrup ( which contains terbutalin + cholrpheniramine maleat) twice in day ( as it act both locally as well act as bronchidilator) .
Hot saline gargles are also helpful.
Since these drugs are prescription drugs , so consult a physician and get his help.
Good luck.
