I has a auto accident several days ago that required about 14 stitches on the outside an about 6 on the inside right at the hair line on my forehead. CT scan showed normal but I am dizzy upon standing up. No pain just feeling out of sort. Is this normal?

Hello,

You have history of auto accident after which you had to take stitches but the CT scan showed normal report. Presently, you are experiencing dizziness. Dizziness is a normal symptoms shown by patients after taking stitches / head injury. It should go away as soon as the stitches heal, dizziness is one of the symptoms that is experienced after a concussion. It may take a week or two to recover from dizziness and other associated symptoms. Sometimes, leakage of inner ear fluid into the middle ear occurs after head injury.

It can cause dizziness, nausea, and unsteadiness when walking or standing. Take rest. Avoid walking, driving or doing any heavy work. You are suggested to get a follow up clinical examination done by the treating doctor. You may be referred to an ENT for further examination. Get all the required tests, audiometry and imaging tests done so that migraine, vertigo or any other pathology can be detected & treatment started at the earliest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
