Hi..
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
I have gone through your query and can understand your health concerns..
As per your complain
drainage from gums is a sign of infection but to exactly evaluate the cause of it a Dentist needs to know the following:
1. Whether the drainage is from the extraction socket or the entire gums..
2. Whether the drainage is from the upper or lower extraction sockets..
3. Whether drainage is a clear fluid or Pus..
4. In case of drainage from all the gums , is there any pain,
redness or swelling associated.
In case if the discharge is from the extraction socket and in case if it is not salty or thick yellowish or whitish it can be tissue fluid which may or may not be mixed with traces of blood, it is not abnormal and will subside as the healing will proceed..
In case if it is pus then it is definitely due to infection and you should
consult a dentist and get evaluated as infection can be due to some left out tooth piece in the extraction socket or some foreign body inclusions, for this condition the treatment is done by removing the infection source and taking antibiotics and painkiller[ if there is pain]..
In case of discharge from entire gums it is a sign of
gum infection [GINGIVITIS] and has to be treated with professional cleaning of teeth known as Scaling, oral intake of antibiotics and painkillers and topical application of gum paint..
Lightheadedness can occur due to side effect of some medicine preferrably antibiotics which must be given to your son by the dentist after extractions and you should talk about it to your dentist so that he can change the medicine..
Secondly it can also be due to
sinus infection if there is perforation of sinus wall during extraction leading to infection in
sinuses and also can cause discharge of fluid..
Therefore a proper treatment needs a thorough evaluation and investigations like x ray..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards..
