Is Drinking Coffee After Getting Verorab Vaccination , Safe?

I m in Mexico on a mission trip and was attacked by a dog. I m taking the rabies vaccine Verorab. A series if 5 injections. I was told I could only eat salads and drink only water which is my drink of choice. The only other thing I drink is 2 cups of coffee in the morning. Will coffee cause a problem? I can t imagine going an entire month without coffee. Thank you.

Hello,

There are no food restrictions as such for rabies vaccination. They might have advised you to take only salads just to prevent any allergic reactions which are very very rare. Hence, you can happily drink coffee without any doubt or guilt. It doesn't interfere in the efficacy of your rabies vaccine in any way.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
