Is Drinking Wine Safe As A 95 Year Old Female?

my 95 year old mother takes Mini Press, Zocon, Noten and Panadol Osteo. She enjoys an occasional wine or 2 when my brother visits. I saw her the next morning after one of these visits, and she was very tired and drawn in her face, a terrible colour in her face.... this gave me a bit of a fright. The visits are only a couple of days, once a month, but the visual effect was a bit scary. Would there be a problem with the little companionable wine she is having?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

One or two glasses of one once in a while are not going to cause health issues to your mother. So, the changes in the color of the face are unlikely to be related to the wine.
On the other hand, it is important that she gets checked and rules out anemia or other possible causes that may cause changes in the color of the skin.

I hope I have answered your query and have been helpful to you.

I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
