Is Dry Cough A Symptom Of Bronchitis?

Hello, I have had bronchitis in the past, usually after the flu. I am just getting over a headcold and I can't stop coughing. It is a non productive dry cough. When I blow my nose it is all clear, no coloration. Is the cough a sign of bronchitis?
Thank you

Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service. I read your query and here is my answer.
Is it associated with fever? At what times the cough is more? If you have fever or flu like symptoms and your chest is clear on auscultation or x-ray chest, then it is most likely bronchitis for which you will need to take antibiotics. But if there is only cough which occurs at night time in bed, then it is most likely due to GERD, for which you will need to raise bed end, keep a gap of at least 2 hours between meal and going to bed and may need medication.
Hope i answered your query. Feel free to ask more if you have any doubt. Thanks.
