Is Dry Drowning In A Child A Matter Of Concern?

My son was just swimming in our pool wearing a snorkel. He s 5 years old. His snorkel went under the water a bit and got some water in it. He panicked a bit and so I jumped in and pulled him to the side. He s typically a good swimmer, but got out coughing a bit, spit up a tiny bit of water and lots of burping. I m not usually an alarmist, but I ve done some reading about dry drowning lately. Do you think I should bring him in to be checked. He seems fine now - had a popsicle and a bath. My husband says he s 100 percent certain that he is fine, but I ve read dry drowning can take up to 24 hours. Please advise.
