Is Elephantiasis Contagious And What Are The Treatments Available?

I am staying with a person suffering from Elephantiasis, should I be concern? Should I do a test to see I have also infected with the disease. What are the available test to diagnose whether one have been transmitted with the disease. If I have been transmitted, what are the available treatment?

Hi i do not think elephantiasis is contagious.it is caused by bite of culex mosquito.it can be diagnosed by seeing the filarial worm in the blood smear when the fever is peak.it can be cured by eofil three times daily for two weeks.we can also use bandy plus twice a week to decrease the transmission
