Is Emergency Contraception Required After Missing A Celeste Dosage?
Hi, I d like to enquire whether or not it would be necessary for me to take emergency contraception (morning after pill). I m currently on Celeste. After my last period, my first Celeste pill was taken last Tuesday 16th 14.00. I m quite forgetful about taking my pill. I forgot to take it last Friday. As advised in the instruction pack, I took 2 pills on Saturday the next day. I took my pill at around 15.00 on Sunday. I had unprotected sex late on Sunday evening. I forgot to take my pill on Monday. I have just realised now, and I have taken 2 Celeste pills.
I would say that it is a little late to take an emergency contraception if 72 hours has been passed after your sexual intercourse. In case of missing your contraceptive pills, it is always suggested to have a back up method of contraception for the next seven days to prevent pregnancy.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
