Is Emergency Treatment Required For My Husband Having Kidney Stones?

I have reason to believe my husband has a kidney stone. He has had them twice in the past 16 months. The first time they lasered it; second time they implanted a stent. He is in agony and is refusing to go to the emergency room. He took a Tylenol with codeine 45 minutes ago. He is very stubborn and I know he needs emergency treatment.
