Is Endometrial Thickness Of 17mm A Cause For Concern?

For six months or more I have nhad heavy painful periods also pain during intercourse, Ive been to the hospital and had a ultrasound which has shown endometrial thickness of 17mm, im due to go for a laparoscopy and diathermy to endometriosis, hysteroscopy and biopsy also to git the mirena coil, I had pre cancerous cells when I was 28, should I be a little concerned?
