Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Excess Hair Growth A Side Effect When Diagnosed With Breast And Liver Cancer?
I was diagnosed with breast and liver cancer. I went on a trial and for 1 yr received 4 doses of Herceptin per month and 3 doses of pre-meds plus paclitaxel per month. The liver cancer is resolved and the breast cancer reduced. For 3 months I have been on 3 weekly doses of Herceptin only. Since ending the chemo, and only on Herceptin, my energy and memory are coming back and I have stopped putting on weight. My hair, eyebrows and eyelashes have started to grow back, but hair is also growing on my face longer and whiter than before. I also have a rash over most of my body. It can t be seen, but it feels like every hair follicle is raised. Can I do anything about the bone and muscle pain (especially in my feet and fingers), the rash and the excess hair on my face?
I think you may also need to take anti-estrogens such tamoxifen or anastozolo. It will probably reduce the hairs on the face. The neuropathy due to chemotherapy can be possible because you have pain on fingers. You can have acetaminophen for pain.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
