Is Excessive Menstrual Bleeding After One Month Of Delivery Normal?

4 weeks postpartum on the 26th, normal vaginal birth, only bled for about 2 weeks after birth, and completed all stages of lochnia. What I believe is my first menstrual cycle started 2 days ago, bleeding was normal until about 4:00pm today when it got heavier, bright red, and passing clots anywhere from quarter size to half dollar... is this normal? At first clots where coming frequently, now they have slowed down to 1 clot during urniation

Hi, I think it can be normal also. You can take some medicines like tranexamic acid to stop the bleeding. Consult a gynecologist for proper prescription. If bleeding is very heavy and associated with pain, consult a gynecologist for complete examination. If bleeding doesn't stop by tranexamic acid, you may need progesterone to stop the bleeding. It can be due to breastfeeding also. Breastfeeding leads to hormonal imbalances and period problems. Hope it helps.
