Is Excessive Smelly Bleeding Normal During Deposit Shots?

I ve been on the depo for awhile I m going for about my fith shot in august and the whole time I have not had my peroid at all on the shot maybe a few spotting now the past days I have been having a heavy flow period and very smelly bleeding .. is this normal ?
