Is Exposure To Mumps Dangerous Before A Tonsillectomy?

Hello, I am getting a tonsillectomy on 12-19 and am supposed to take a trip with my family from 12-16 through 12-18. We will all be staying in the same hotel room and will be together all weekend. My sister has been exposed to the mumps from multiple friends by drinking after them and has a cough. Should I be worried about being with her 24/7 before I get my tonsillectomy?
