Is Exposure To The Sun Harmful While Suffering With Shingles?
I was diagnosed with shingles today. Age 66. Have received shingles vaccine. Had chicken pox as a child. Good health. Am taking Valalcyclovirhcl for 7 days. Should exposure to the sun be avoided? My 66 yr old husband also received the vaccine and is in good health. Had chicken pox as a child. Should we consider it contagious?

Sun exposure may aggravate the pain, there is no other relationship between shingles and sun exposure. Shingles are contagious, but keep in mind that shingles can cause chickenpox in contacted person, not shingles.
