Is Extreme Cough With Yellowish Nasal Discharge Post Tonsil Removal A Concern?

My daughter had her tonsils removed 5 days ago. She had a cough before havinf surgery. However the cough is worsening and sounding more chest congestion related. She has had no fever, and has been drinking lots of fluids. She is also blowing yellow from her nose which I know are signs of infection. My main concern is can her coughing cause the scabs to come off before they are ready? Im going to doctor tomorrow. As a mother I would like to have a safe answer now.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think the yellow discharge and white coating on throat may be normal after tonsillectomy. You should follow your doctor's advice. Consult the doctor who did the surgery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
