Is Farting Normal After Delivery ?

After an episiotomy I find myself passing gas often and I am not able to hold them in . Also a couple of times when I could not get to the restroom, I found stool on my underpants. It was very soft. I still had to have a bowel movement later. Is this normal after giving birth?
