Is Fasting Recommended For Breast Feeding Women?

I am currently exclusively breast feeding my infant daughter. I'd like to have blood drawn next week to check my cholesterol and glucose levels. I would need to fast to get the most accurate results. Is it recommended that breast feeding women fast? I don't want my daughter to go hungry or my milk production to decrease.
