Is Fever During Night Common During Hiv Infection?

I suspect to be infected with HIV after my last unprotected sex 2 weeks ago. I have been suffering from headache, flu, cough with light green sputum and have fevers from 3pm till the next morning. Fever will cease in the morning. Is it common to have fevers only during the night? Thank you

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

Headache, flu , night fever and cough should prompt you to get investigated for tuberculosis. This can occur by itself or as a consequence of HIV infection. Please get a chest X ray done too. There are many tests for TB and you need to consult your doctor and then get tested for both TB and HIV if necessary.
