Is Fibroids Causing My Inability To Urinate During Menstruation?

I have a problem that my urine stops before my periods. I had to use cathater for passing the urine. it becoms normal when periods starts. I have a fibroid in my uterus also. The size is about 5 cm. There is heavy bleeding during the periods.Is there any connection between all the problems.
