Is Fluid Leaking And Swishing Sound From Ear Normal After Grommets Insertion?

Our 20 month old daughter got grommets inserted 3 months ago in both ears. One ear seems perfectly fine but the other ear seems to be causing her some bother. There is also a lot of wax or fluid leaking from her ear & when she touches her ear you can hear a type of swishing sound ad if there is a lot if fluid? Is this normal?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

If the fluid is coming out of the grommet and if it also smelling bad, then you need to consult an ENT Surgeon.

You should start an antibiotic drug Augmentin twice daily x 7 days. Start tablet Levocetirizine drug at bedtime for 3 weeks and avoid water entry to ear.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
